The Volunteer Centre aims to:

• match both individuals and groups interested in volunteering with appropriate opportunities in the local community
• stimulate and encourage local interest in volunteering and community activity
• promote good practice to all organisations that work with volunteers
• deliver training and accreditation for volunteers and potential volunteers, volunteer managers and the volunteering infrastructure
• work in close partnership with statutory, voluntary and private sector agencies as well as community groups and faith groups to develop local volunteering opportunities
• identify proposals or legislation that may impact on volunteering, and lead/or participate in campaigns on issues that affect volunteers or volunteering
• inform strategic thinking and planning at a regional and national level

We are particularly keen to promote the fact that volunteering is for everyone and that everyone has something to offer the community that they live in.
