Volunteer Centre Newcastle is a partnership project between CSV and Newcastle Council for Voluntary Service. The Centre operates to assist individuals interested in volunteering and
organisations who involve volunteers in their activities.
The Volunteer Centre aims to:
- match both individuals and groups interested in volunteering with appropriate opportunities in the local community
- stimulate and encourage local interest in volunteering and community activity
- promote good practice to all organisations that work with volunteers
- deliver training and accreditation for volunteers and potential volunteers, volunteer managers and the volunteering infrastructure
- work in close partnership with statutory, voluntary and private sector agencies as well as community groups and faith groups to develop local volunteering opportunities
- identify proposals or legislation that may impact on volunteering, and lead/or participate in campaigns on issues that affect volunteers or volunteering
- inform strategic thinking and planning at a regional and national level
We are particularly keen to promote the fact that volunteering is for everyone and that everyone has something to offer the community that they live in.
