CSV Travellers Youth Project works with young Gypsy and Traveller people aged 13 to 19 from Sunderland, Gateshead and Newcastle. Our aim is to assist the young Travellers with educational and recreational activities. We also attempt to create awareness of the Traveller culture and lifestyle amongst non-Traveller communities and organisations.

We hold activities such as workshops, residential trips and awareness sessions. We have strong and valuable relationships with Connexions, training providers and local schools. In Sunderland, we work with the libraries and use their mobile Internet and Library vehicle twice a week to visit Traveller sites. This gives young travellers the opportunity to learn and use a range of computer skills.
