Introduction
The Newlyn Learning Centre provides learning opportunities and training
to adults aged 16 years and over, our aim is to help people realise their
full potential working within a friendly and supportive environment. We
provide high quality training which enables students to gain nationally
recognised qualifications which are taught and assessed by qualified and
experienced staff.
The
Newlyn Learning Centre is based in North Kenton, however, we also deliver
training in a number of outreach centres, including Simonside Community
Centre, Fawdon Community Centre, English Martyrs Primary School, Mountfield
Primary School, Headstart and the Cowgate Basement Project.
What we offer
Over the years we have extended our provision to meet the needs of the
local community and have developed a range of innovative programmes. For
instance, our Family Learning Programme provides a fun and rewarding way
to learn which gets the whole family involved in a shared learning experience.

In addition we also offer Key Skills in Communication through Family
Learning where students arrange a number of visits to local art galleries,
museums and other places of interest. Students then use their desktop
publishing, IT and communication skills to produce a newsletter which
is distributed within the local community.
We are also developing links with local businesses with the aim of developing
training opportunities to increase the essential skills required within
the employment sector.
