The Thursday Club provides an informal meeting place and outings for isolated people affected by mental health problems. It meets at the Quaker Meeting House, 1 Archbold Terrace, Jesmond on Thursday evenings throughout the year, except for August and two weeks over Christmas, when the Club does not run. The Thursday Club was established in 1962. It has a membership of approximately 50 people of varying ages. Activities include:
The Thursday Club is staffed by a mixture of Quaker volunteers and social workers from Newcastle City Council. If you would like to join the Thursday Club or know someone who you would like to refer please contact:
