The operational centre of the project was in Rooms 237 and 239 of Newcastle Civic Centre. Here Geoff Walker and Mike Riley were collecting and editing content received via email and over the telephone from the Fieldworkers. At any one time there were at least five fieldworkers in the target area.

The initial content gathered was in the form of narrative, digital images or a combination of both. Mike collected, filtered and edited the content while Geoff loaded this content onto the Internet in static web pages via File Transfer Protocol (FTP).

Briefings were held twice daily for the fieldwork team. The first at 08.00 Hrs; the second at 13.00 Hrs.

Reports were produced five times a day and were divided into a General Report written by Mike Riley and a Technical Report by Geoff Walker.
